The US Federal Reserve has indicated that it’s approving the Wells Fargo (WFC) and Wachovia Bank (WB) deal and has shortened it’s usual notice period due to, and I’ll quote this:

“unusual and exigent circumstances affecting the financial markets, the weakened financial condition of Wachovia and all other facts,”

The deal should be fully completed within 5 days and the whole thing is going through basically because Citigroup (C) dropped out of the race last Thursday. The Fed then said “it was immediately considering the deal” and so, really, it was a given.
